Reimagining Insurance Through Blockchain Technology

Started from a coffee shop conversation in 2021, now training the next generation of insurance tech innovators

We didn't set out to build an education platform. Honestly, we were just frustrated developers who saw insurance companies struggling with outdated systems. After spending three years building blockchain solutions for Taiwanese insurers, we realized something — the industry needs people who understand both worlds.

How We Got Here

The path from building software to teaching wasn't planned. But looking back, every challenge we faced in real projects became a lesson worth sharing with others who want to work in this space.

2021

The Beginning

Two developers working on separate insurance projects realized they were solving similar problems differently. What started as technical discussions turned into a shared vision for blockchain-enabled insurance systems that could actually work in Taiwan's regulated environment.

2022

Real World Testing

Built our first smart contract system for policy management. It failed spectacularly during stress testing. But those failures taught us what textbooks never could — how blockchain behaves when thousands of policies need processing simultaneously.

2023

Industry Recognition

After successfully deploying solutions for three insurance companies, we started getting questions from developers wanting to enter this field. That's when we realized — there wasn't really a place to learn this specific combination of skills.

2024

Building Education

Launched our first pilot program with eight students. Half had insurance backgrounds, half came from blockchain development. Watching them struggle with the same issues we faced validated our approach — you need hands-on experience with real scenarios.

2025

Growing Forward

Now working with insurance partners across Taiwan to create learning opportunities that reflect actual industry needs. Our autumn program fills up months in advance because people recognize the value of learning from practitioners who've dealt with real implementation challenges.

What Drives Our Teaching Approach

We're not academics publishing papers. We're people who've debugged smart contracts at 2 AM before a production deployment. That experience shapes everything we teach.

Real Problems First

Every lesson starts with an actual problem we encountered in production. You'll work with messy data, conflicting requirements, and tight deadlines — just like you will in actual insurance tech projects.

Industry Context Matters

Blockchain in insurance isn't just about code. It's about understanding regulatory frameworks, risk management principles, and why legacy systems exist in the first place. We teach the full picture.

Practical Over Theoretical

You won't spend weeks learning consensus algorithms. Instead, you'll build claim processing systems, policy verification tools, and fraud detection mechanisms. Theory comes up when you actually need it to solve something.

Meet The Team

We're a small group who believes the best way to learn this field is from people actively working in it. No full-time professors here — just practitioners who spend half their time building and half teaching what they've learned.

Linnea Vesterholm

Technical Lead & Program Director

Spent five years building distributed systems for fintech before moving into insurance. Led the smart contract architecture for Taiwan's first blockchain-based claims processing system. Still writes code daily and uses those experiences to design practical curriculum.

Siobhan Kerrigan

Insurance Systems Specialist

Worked in traditional insurance IT for eight years before discovering blockchain could solve problems she'd been fighting her whole career. Now bridges the gap between conventional insurance operations and decentralized technology. Teaches the regulatory and compliance aspects most developers overlook.

Want to Learn From Real Projects?

Our next cohort begins in September 2025. We keep groups small because every student works on actual insurance blockchain implementations. If you're serious about entering this field, let's talk about whether our program fits your goals.
